|The gorgeous pop-up calendar from Clovered|
Hey, just three days to the new year! Greetings from cool Mangalore, where the family has congregated for my cousin Sushanth's wedding and the golden jubilee of the profession of vows of my aunt, Sr Mary John. It has already been two days of meeting extended family (lots of kissing and hugging -- and not of the air-kissing variety either), decorating the house with everything gold -- gold-coloured paper chains, gold and net poinsettias, and yellow round lanterns (they do not make them in gold) -- and eating, and making and drinking strange cocktails. And yes, the neighbour's dog has a litter of puppies -- so looking at puppies piling onto each other...
It's great that all of us -- my parents, my bro and sis-in-law Mohan and Neisha, and Kevin, Zach and I -- are together, and it is something that we cherish, though, being the family we are, nobody will say it out loud...
Anyway, just wanted to share a few printable calendars I've found over the last few weeks, so that, if you're bored with the corporate-looking ones you've been receiving, you have a choice...
The Kokeshi dolls calendar from Creative Mamma is really sweet.
Joy Charde of Creative Mamma also has this pretty Doodle Write In Calendar
Angela from Anything But Perfect has cute illustrations on her 2012 printable calendar: you need to look through her free Printables section for all the months of the year.
And if you're looking for a more straightforward year-at-a-glance calendar, Aimee at Sprik Space has a few designs.
And off the net, a few other links
From Call Me Victorian, a Vintage Paris calendar
From artist Richard Young, a beautiful dance calendar
And if you're willing to work a bit for a wonderful piece of calendar art/installation, you'll enjoy this pop-up calendar from Ngoc Thuy Do of Clovered in Vietnam...
and this fantastic build-as-you-go Craft Calendar from Canon Creative Park.
Enjoy! And a happy new year!
