September 5: Teachers’ Day: Call one!
So, it’s great that Teachers’ Day falls on a Monday this year, which meant we could make our appreciation thingies on Sunday evening, without doing my head in! Zach’s school has a strict no-gifts policy, and encourages handmade efforts, so we do a combo of printing and cutting and writing (a little) in assembly-line fashion. Over the years, we have done bookmarks and faux chocolate wrappers, and this year, we are back to bookmarks.
We chose Jinjerup’s Chick Chic bookmarks because they look so much fun, and are not so hard to make, even if our cutting skills are a little rusty. Ideal if you need something different.
These are Zach’s bookmarks; we placed each in a transparent sealable bag with ’Bookmark!’ emblazoned across it, and he personalised it with the teacher’s name. A good evening’s work!
Call a teacher today! A teacher who taught you, or just a teacher... It’s a vocation with so many mixed blessings.
The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.”
 ~ Khalil Gibran
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
~ William Arthur Ward
